Advanced Workshop for Practitioners and Interns
From 9am until 8pm
At Notre Dame Retreat Center
5151 Foster Road, Canandaigua, NY 14424
Tuition: $535 before 6/6/17, $660 after (Deposit $200 per person)
We'll focus on the ways in which Rosen Method Bodywork is a particularly effective approach for trauma survivors at various stages of their healing process. You'll learn how to recognize when a client is actually safe--it's not always when they say they are. You'll practice how to create the conditions that allow them to land in what IS, which for some survivors demands more of the practitioner than do clients who are working on other kinds of issues. You'll practice how to maintain presence and connection in the face of hard-to-handle emotions and stories. You'll learn more about what is going on physiologically to get clients free of trauma symptoms. This workshop is for practitioners and interns. We recommend that, if you have not already, you read Anais' article on treating trauma with Rosen Method (available at the rosen international journal or on her website) before you attend. Also recommended is Ivy Green's book, Resistance, Awareness, Resilience: Rosen Method Bodywork Science and Practice.
